I have to copy that file to eg desktop and then attach in to the email. This includes any proprietary software that may have come with it.Once formatted, connect it to the Mac and see if it appears on the Desktop. I think it could be fixed by capacitor replacement but thats really tricky thing to do as there is no schematics availible. June 29 by micah micah - Apple did put pad on either side of the cable in later machines and widened the cable. I'm now close to four years old and just had the same issue, sadly no warranty this time. As soon as I connect them internally, I get a flashing question mark folder. Now open a Finder window and check under Devices to see the mounted hard drive. Drive would not boot up correctly, i could reformat and reinstall snow leopard but when i would try to reboot, nothing.
